2015 Adopt A Family Wrap Up

The Adopt A Family program was an incredible success thanks to so many in the community who pitched in and got involved during one of the busiest times of the year! Together you helped 577 households, consisting of 894 adults and 1,439 children, celebrate a joyous holiday season with their families.

More than 260 individual, community group and corporate donors participated in making this year’s Adopt A Family program special for our families in need, and 100 percent of the participating households were adopted for the sixth year in a row!

We were also humbled to experience an overwhelming number of inquiries from individuals and groups who sought to give back through volunteering. Sixty volunteers committed their time and energy to helping us create ornaments, field phone calls, receive donations, organize gifts for families and many other tasks that had a huge impact on this year’s amazing results.

We are so inspired by the outpouring of support we received throughout the Adopt A Family season! We will continue to focus on the needs of our clients through our programs and services. But, we would not be able to do this without continued partnerships with other social service providers, community groups, local businesses and everyday folks who just want to help others get through a tough moment in their lives. Mahalo nui loa to one and all from all of us at Helping Hands Hawaii!
