Team Leader, Hilo Community-Based Case Management/Community-Based Care Coordination

“I choose to do the work I do with Helping Hands Hawaii because I need to be in a place where I can use my skills and creativity for good while doing my part to make a positive difference in as many people’s lives as I can.”

Jesslie is the Team Leader for the Community-Based Case Management/Community-Based Care Coordination team in Hilo. She manages the day-to-day program operations of a multidisciplinary team that provides direct case management support services. The team supports adults with severe and persistent mental illness who often additionally struggle with poverty, homelessness and substance abuse in East Hawaii.

She holds a High Honors BA in Psychology from the University of Hawaii at Hilo and a High Honors MEd in Counseling and Guidance from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Jesslie is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama, where she was a two-year ILH First-Team All-Star Division II Girls Basketball player.

Fun Fact: Jesslie enjoys hiking and has completed a 21-mile round-trip hike from sunrise to sunset.
