Donors Needed for 2017 Adopt A Family Program

AAF-Poster-finalGive families hope for the holidays and beyond through the 2017 Adopt A Family (AAF) program! AAF is a seasonal program administered by Helping Hands Hawaii during the holidays and matches individuals and families experiencing hardships with kind donors in the community.

AAF participants may be living in poverty, battling illnesses, recovering from domestic violence, suffering from severe mental health challenges, enduring homelessness or living with other barriers that threaten their household’s stability and success.

Donors are invited to change lives one family at a time through the AAF program. When you adopt a family and purchase much-needed items from their holiday Wish Lists, you show them that they are not alone and forgotten by their community. Often, the requested items include clothing and footwear, household goods and other basic necessities.

The program’s goal is to make sure each and every household is adopted and to distribute gifts to families before Christmas. Donors have maintained a 100 percent adoption rate for many, many years!

If you are interested in becoming an Adopt A Family donor, submit an AAF Donor Information Form to The process of matching donors with their families will begin in early November, and the deadline for donors to drop off gifts is Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017.
