The Ready to Learn (R2L) program focuses on the needs of school-aged students from grades K to 12. Initially founded in 1999 in partnership with the late U.S. Senator Daniel and Maggie Inouye, its purpose is to ensure that low-income and homeless students throughout Hawai‘i have basic school supplies for their education. In 2005, HHH assumed statewide administration of this initiative and has continued to perpetuate the Inouyes’ vision. Together with our community partners, HHH assists more than 8,000 students each year.
The community is encouraged to support this effort by collecting monetary gifts and school supply donations through fundraising efforts within their own network. By serving as a collection point for your group, individuals can contribute to the overall effort to promote the importance of education for our keiki.
HHH accepts monetary donations through the PayPal link on our website. All PayPal donations received from 6/1/15 – 7/31/15 are reserved to support R2L. Alternatively, you may drop off or mail your donation to:

Items such as crayons, scissors, glue, folder paper, composition books, spiral notebooks, pencils/pens, rulers, calculators, portfolios, 2″ three-ring binders and backpacks are used to create two different educational kits targeting students in grades K-5 and grades 6-12. Each kit costs approximately $10 to assemble.
