Shop at Windward Mall and Donate Household Items from April 1 to 30 to Help Families in Need

Spring CleaningWindward Mall is hosting its second annual Spring Cleaning drive to help families in need. Shop at the mall for new household items or bring in gently used donations from April 1 to 30. Drop off your donations at the upper level mall doors of Macy’s and Sears.

Your donation of simple, basic necessities for the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen will help struggling individuals and families. Here’s a list of most needed item:

Bedroom – Blankets/Comforters, Fans, Pillows, Pillowcases/Sheets

Bathroom – Bath Mats/Toilet Brushes*, Laundry Baskets, Shampoo and Conditioner*^, Shower Curtains, Soap/Body Wash*^, Towels/Wash Cloths

Kitchen – Brooms/Mops/Sponges, Cutlery/Dishes, Dish Racks/Dish Soaps, Electric Kettles, Microwaves, Rice Cookers, Scrub Brushes, Toaster/Toaster Ovens, Towels, Trash Cans

Miscellaneous – Lamps, Small Shelving Units, Storage Bins/Boxes

*Items must be new and unopened for health and safety requirements
^Regular and/or travel size needed

Monetary donations are also being collected online at HelpingHandsHawaii.org by clicking on Donate Now. Make sure you mention “Spring Cleaning Drive” in the message section.

All donations received during Windward Mall’s Spring Cleaning drive will be distributed for free through Helping Hands Hawaii’s Community Clearinghouse. This program provides basic essentials and emergency financial assistance to struggling families to reduce household expenses and allows them to direct their funds toward expenses, such as rent, utilities, medical bills and other financial obligations.
