Celebrating 50 Years of Service: A Night of Reflection and Gratitude
On a beautiful evening at Washington Place, Helping Hands Hawai‘i celebrated its 50th Anniversary with a special Pā‘ina Benefit Fundraiser. Surrounded by supporters, partners, and community leaders, the event was a heartfelt reflection on five decades of service and a look forward to the continued mission of helping Hawaii’s most vulnerable families.
The evening honored the organization’s journey through the decades, reflecting on the challenges overcome and the countless lives touched. Stories of resilience and recovery were shared, including that of a single mother from Maui who travels to Oahu weekly for her daughter’s cancer treatment and a young couple who built a new life for their family after experiencing houselessness.
Guests enjoyed a special three-course dinner prepared by Chef Ed Kenney of Mud Hen Water, Chef Robynne Maii of Fete, and Executive Pastry Chef Michelle Karr-Ueoka of MW Restaurant. Special thanks are extended to Governor Josh Green and First Lady Jaime Kanani Green, U.S. Senator Brian Schatz, Lt. Governor Sylvia Luke, table sponsors, and silent auction donors, whose generous support made the evening possible. Their contributions underscore the strength of the community’s belief in the organization’s mission.
Mahalo nui loa to everyone who joined us and continues to support our mission. Together, we can ensure that the next 50 years are just as impactful as the last.
