“Growing up in Kalihi with immigrant parents, I benefitted from services, like our Adopt a Family. It’s a great feeling to come full circle and be able to give back what I received as a child.”
As a Program Coordinator, Mae assists with planning and coordinating Community Clearinghouse services. These services include providing material assistance, school supply assistance, holiday relief, and emergency financial assistance to individuals and families in need.
Mae also facilitates monthly empowerment classes on financial literacy for families and individuals receiving Community Clearinghouse services.
Mae is a graduate of McKinley High School and holds an associate degree in Human Services from Honolulu Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Fun fact: Mae’s an avid Studio Ghibli fan. Howl’s Moving Castle is her favorite Studio Ghibli movie.
